Winter Spice Blend

Ayurvedic Winter Spice Mix: Anti Inflammatory Super Seasonal Blend

Uses:

  • add at the beginning of kitchari

  • sprinkle on avocado toast

  • toss with olive oil to roast veggies

  • mix 1 tsp with 3 T olive oil, 1 T lemon juice, shake in glass jar for dressing to pour over grain bowls

  • use to flavor carrot ginger soup

  • whisk 1 tsp into 1 cup nut milk, simmer, then stir in raw honey or maple syrup for a golden latte

1 tbsp ground turmeric

1 tbsp coriander seeds

1 tsp cumin seeds

1 tsp fennel seeds

½ tsp ground ginger

1/4 tsp ground cardamom

1/4 tsp Himalayan pink salt

1/4 tsp coconut sugar

black pepper

Dry roast coriander, cumin, and fennel seeds in a pan on medium heat until you can smell them, a few minutes. Cool completely. Combine with other ingredients and mix well with a mortar and pestle or in a coffee grinder dedicated to spices. Store in a glass jar.

Note: turmeric stains everything! Wear gloves if you like and consider your kitchen workspace.
